Clean Upper Downtown Committee – July 2024

Our Clean-Upper Downtown Committee is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a $1500.00 grant through the CALC Micro-Grant Program, a partnership of the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure and Denver Streets Partnership. Jackie Bunce, a Spire resident, wrote the grant. We are grateful for her contribution.

With the grant funds, we were able to purchase more supplies for our ever-expanding clean-ups. These supplies include grabbers, two wagons, picks (for cigarette butts), and two battery-charged blowers. We have also brought new signage for the wagons, which will display “UpDoNA VOLUNTEERS,” along with stickers featuring our logo on all our supplies. This will help raise awareness about our organization’s clean-up efforts, and the word is already spreading.

Last month, our group at 1600 Glenarm was pleased to welcome employees from JARS Cannabis to join us. They were a friendly and energetic bunch.

Our July 6th clean-up is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Spire, 1600 Glenarm, and One Lincoln Park.
