Trybal Hearing
On April 18 UpDoNa representatives (Lisa and Garis) attended the city Licensing Hearing for Main Turn Enterprises. They will be doing business as Trybal at 1670 Champa. As Trybal has executed a Good Neighbor Agreement with UpDoNa, we spoke in support of granting a license. The hearing committee appeared impressed with the planned unique and ambitious operation. The Trybal African Speakeasy will combine elements of African food, art, music, and cocktails while giving a cultural, educational and historical experience. They hope to open by June.
TAG Happenings
Troy Guard and the TAG Restaurant Group have been busy lately. LC Tacos LLC have applied for a license transfer from the recently opened TAG cocktail bar, Done Deal, in Republic Plaza. LC Tacos currently has a small eatery at 2470 N. Broadway serving traditional and unique tacos. From application paperwork, it appears that LC Tacos may be a TAG affiliated group.
TAG Steak, doing business as Guard & Grace at 1801 California, has also applied for a license transfer to an as yet unnamed license recipient. TAG also has a steakhouse in Houston and has announced a new opening in Charlotte, NC. The TAG Restaurant in Larimar Square has recently closed. The TAG Group has not signed a Good Neighbor Agreement for any of its operations in Denver.
Mid-East Mediterranean Cuisine
And for those of you who have been missing the fine food at the Beirut Grill, good news! Rumor has that a new management team is planning a face-lift and a reopening in the near future.
