Groundfloor Activation Preparation

The Downtown Denver Partnership held a focus group on October 27, 2023, which was intended to inform the Downtown Denver Groundfloor Activation Strategy. The Safety & Quality of Life Committee participated in the group, along with a wide cross-section of stakeholders from the Upper Downtown neighborhood.

The following top priorities came out of the focus group:
– Create a vibrant nighttime economy | music, events, destinations
– Improve cleanliness | property owner accountability
– Creative and niche groundfloor tenanting strategies | unique retail destinations | family-oriented programming and uses | ticketed experiences
– Encourage more residential development

Focus areas:
Activate plazas, green spaces, nodes throughout Upper Downtown

They are now asking for a broader participation in a survey. This should help set the stage for focused activity to revitalize Upper Downtown. This will be particularly important as we begin to prepare for a robust return to pre-pandemic levels as the 16th Street Mall begins to complete. (The current schedule calls for everything from Market to Tremont to be finished as we head into the summer of 2025).

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. The survey will be open from now until mid-December, 2023. Please consider providing your inputs.
