Denver’s first St Patrick’s Day parade happened in 1889. It had a Grand Ball the night before at the Denver Chamber of Commerce that was lit entirely by gas lamps, and the parade kicked off the next morning. It has continued in its current form for 58 years, and is one of the highlights of Denver’s year, enjoyed by thousands of people every year.
