The upcoming municipal elections that will be held in early April are very important to the future of downtown Denver. We are hoping that candidates that we elect at the mayoral and city council levels have a firm grasp on the issues that we face, such as illegal camping on the streets, homelessness, crime, and so many others. Moreover, we are hopeful that the candidates understand the urgency of solving our problems and have viable plans in mind for implementing those solutions in order to help Denver recover.
There are currently five candidates for City Council District 10. They are in alphabetical order:
- Chris Hinds
- Shannon Hoffman
- Noah Kaplan
- Margie Morris
- Matthew Watkajtys
In order to assist UpDoNA members in making an informed decision before they vote, UpDoNA is planning a District 10 Candidate Forum. It will be held in Home2Suites hotel at 15th St & Stout on Thursday, February 16th at 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. There will also be a meet & greet period where you will have a chance to meet the candidates, beginning at 5:30PM that evening.
Further details will be coming out as we get closer to the date, but for now, mark your calendars and plan to attend this very important event.
