A recent addition to the Business Committee of UpDoNA is Lucia’s Housekeeping Services. On any given day, you may see two women wearing black aprons with that name emblazoned on the back. Lucy Moreno and her assistant, Chele are no strangers to the Spire where Lucy has worked as a Housekeeper for 8 1/2 years, currently providing services to 51 clients. Her goal is to help you have your home as you want it, neat and clean. By the look of consistent and return clients, she is accomplishing her goal.
Lucy came to the USA from Mexico over 20 years ago, settling in California, where she met her husband. Her first two children were born there but when the youngest was four years old, the high prices and cost of living forced her to leave the state. She came to Denver and settled here stating that Denver was far better with more jobs and more pay. Her third child, a son, was born soon after. Lucy and her family were able, after a time, to purchase their own home-the American Dream. Lucy loves to cook and have parties of family and friends in their big back yard.
When asked how she got into the housekeeping business, she responded “I like cleaning everything: even the bathroom, kitchen stove and refrigerator. I don’t mind, if a place is not so clean I can make it better”. Lucy has the help of her assistant, Chele, a pleasant, competent and very positive woman.
Lucy and Chele enjoy coming to the Spire where the residents are “very nice”. In Lucy’s words, “I like working for them”. However, there is one challenge Lucy continually faces and that is the dreaded parking. Lucy reports that often times residents will help out, but it still remains an issue.
