UpDoNA Cares Committee checking in….. We are alive and very well!
There are SO MANY initiatives working to support people experiencing homelessness AND working to alleviate the systemic ills that cause homelessness.
Noah Kaplan from Headwaters Protectors met with us in March. Noah ran for District 10 City Council with specific, “out-of-the-box” approaches to improving life in Denver for those with and without homes. Keep an eye on him (Noah Kaplan) and Headwaters as they continue their work. You can donate to Headwaters at their website.
Helen Hedrick and Sal Tripodi from the Cares Committee attended Elevated Denver’s gathering in March to celebrate the “drop” of their second season podcast. https://elevateddenver.co/podcast/

Monica Amador from Caring for Denver Foundation will present at our regular Cares Meeting — July 20 — 4:30pm — probably Spire 10th Floor depending on remodel work.

For an entire year now there has been a representative from UpDoNA Cares at the Delores Project almost each week to serve lunch. As a group we have served and prepared lunch a couple of times and are looking for a special project to complete for the Delores Project this spring.
We are in the beginning phases of planning a happy hour to welcome new members to the committee. (We hear there are several people from One Lincoln Park interested in the UpDoNA Cares Committee). Keep an eye on the Upper Downtown Neighborhood Association website and UpDoNA facebook page for more information about this happy hour.
