On November 5, several members of UpDoNA Cares joined with men from STEP Denver for a city cleanup in the Ballpark area. Despite howling winds, we managed to fill flapping black garbage bags with a lot of trash. This is the joy of giving back to society, an important element of recovery and sobriety.

UpDoNA Cares has arranged to cook and serve yet another meal for the Delores Project on Dec. 9. Thanks to all the UpDoNA volunteers who serve in the kitchen at Delores and all who contribute to these meals. Boots on the ground to support individuals in homeless situations are important, for sure; but systemic societal improvements are key so that homelessness does not sprout in the first place.
