Build the Canopy Grant Program

U

The Urban Forest Initiative is a grant program managed by the Downtown Denver Partnership that provides financial assistance to properties downtown to enlarge existing tree planters and/or install new tree planters where possible.

Trees are so important to our downtown providing dozens of economic, environmental, and wellness benefits, but because of our legacy infrastructure, downtown trees have not been given the space they need to grow to maturity. By enlarging tree beds, the trees have more room for the roots to spread and we can grow our urban forest. The program provides two grant – (1) up to $2,000 to investigate design & feasibility of enlarging trees at your property and (2) up to $20,000 per tree bed towards construction costs.

Through the Urban Forest Initiative, the Spire building recently installed two large tree beds on the Champa Street side of the building.

Please contact the Downtown Denver Partnership if you are interested in installing tree planters in front of your residential building or business, https://www.downtowndenver.com/urban-forest-initiative-grant-applications/
