UpDoNA Is Involved and Engaged With Our Community And Elected Leaders In Many Ways
In December of 2025, UpDoNA organized a Town Hall meeting on “Homelessness in Downtown Denver – Mental Health, Addiction, Funding and Public Safety For a Safe & Thriving Downtown”.
On Halloween in 2025, UpDoNA volunteers helped to give out candy to children at the Denver Police District 6 headquarters during their annual Trunk or Treat.

In October of 2025, UpDoNA parntered with LoDoNA and Lodo District to host the first quarterly Registered Neighborhood Organization (RNO) meeting with Mayor Johnston,
Starting in October, UpDoNA partnered with IKE Smart City who provided free advertising for UpDoNA on 23 digital kiosks on and near 16th Street.
In September of 2025, several members represented UpDoNA at the annual Urban Peak Sneaker Ball.
In August of 2025, UpDoNA volunteers worked with Denver Parks & Recreation to develop a new pocket park at 19th St & Welton using grant money from Columbia Private Trust.
In August of 2025, UpDoNA co-hosted the third annual Downtown Denver National Night Out where we celebrated and honored Denver’s police and first responders.
UpDoNA regularly helps to serve meals at Urban Peak, an organization that assists Denver’s youth to exit homelessness and live productive fulfilling lives.
In June of 2025, Mayor Johnston spoke at UpDoNA’s Annual Meeting. This was the inagural event for Glenarm Plaza.
In April of 2025, UpDoNA was invited to participate in the 16th Street Summer Kickoff celebration.
In April of 2025, members of the UpDoNA Scooter Committee testified at a Denver City Council meeting on a proposed Scooter ordinance.
In March of 2025, UpDoNA coordinated a Self-Defense class for Upper Downtown women.
In March of 2025, UpDoNA participated in the Vibrant Denver Bond Hearing.
In February of 2025, UpDoNA arranged a meeting with the Denver Police Department regarding increased police presence downtown.
UpDoNA’s Arts & Beautification Committee commissioned a mural on the Cherry Creek Bike Path using grant money from Dynamic Denver. It was dedicated in January of 2025
In April of 2024, UpDoNA co-hosted a debate between candidates for teh office of Denver District Attorney.
In March of 2024, an UpDoNA Safety Committee co-chair participated in a Ride-Along with Denver Police, and attended VirTra training where he virtually faced real situations encountered by police.
In December of 2023, UpDoNA volunteers helped set up a homeless shelter.
In September of 2023, UpDoNA was invited to host our tent at the Downtown Denver Partnership Block Party
In May of 2023, UpDoNA co-hosted a debate with the two remaining candidates prior to the runoff election for City Council District 10.
