Lisa Pope is the co-Founder and President of the new-formed Upper Downtown Neighborhood Association (“UpDoNA”) Registered Neighborhood Organization. UpDoNA was formed to address the issues and concerns of the Upper Downtown Neighborhood in downtown Denver, Colorado. Having previously served as Vice President, Lisa continues to work on the organization and membership of UpDoNA with the goal of working with City leaders, businesses, and other residents to address the concerns of the residents of Upper Downtown.
Having spent more than 12 years working in various areas of law, including trial work, Lisa developed the organizational, research, and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage heavy caseloads while working with professionals from various areas of business and industry.
As the Founder of the Andover School District Legislative Council in Andover, Kansas, Lisa worked with school officials and county and state legislators to represent the funding needs of students in the Andover School District.
Lisa has held several board positions. Some of that experience includes serving as President of the Emerald Park Neighborhood Homeowner’s Association in Springfield, Missouri where she organized, and worked with, neighbors in successfully arguing before City Council to prevent a major retail complex from being constructed near neighborhoods and schools which would have resulted in an unsafe environment. Lisa served on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Springfield, Missouri, and was Chair of Teen Court. Teen Court is a program that works with first-time teen offenders who are prosecuted, defended, and tried by a jury of their peers with a sitting judge presiding.
Lisa approaches every opportunity with passion and professionalism and knows how to get things accomplished by working with people to find the best solutions. She graduated from California State University, Sacramento, magna cum laude, with a B.S. in Business Administration. Lisa and her husband, Jeff, have lived in downtown Denver for eight years.
