As part of its charter, UpDoNA has long supported the needs of some of the less fortunate members of our community. UpDoNA volunteers regularly purchase, prepare, and serve lunches at two homeless shelters – Urban Peak and The Delores Project. Those of us who have been part of these lunches have had great experiences and feel much appreciated by the shelter residents.
The cost of the food for these lunches is significant and UpDoNA was recently awarded $2000 to help with this cost! Our Board Member Paul Melinkovich completed an application for funding from the Denver District 10 Community Benefit Fund and we were awarded $2000. This will help us continue and potentially expand our lunch program.
We need 3-5 volunteers for each lunch. If you are interested, please contact Ron directly at ron23townsend@gmail.com.
